Webex for Court Hearings
In order to improve the access to justice the court service is rolling out Webex to enable court hearings to be undertaken by way of video conference.
This means that where you are involved in a civil court action, particularly an action involving a child, you will be able to attend your court hearing by way of video conference along with the sheriff, sheriff clerk, solicitors and other parties to the case.
The Webex hearing is more akin to appearing in actual court and you do require to observe court etiquette. The sheriff clerk will manage the hearing and you will receive a link to join the hearing in advance.
These types of hearings are being rolled out at different courts in Scotland over different periods. Some hearings may still take place by way of teleconference.
Where we are acting on your behalf and representing you in court, we will provide full information and instructions on any court hearing.
